Saxophonist Perico Sambeat is considered to be one of the greatest Spanish jazz musicians. He has recorded more than twenty albums as leader and more than a hundred as sideman with great figures such as Brad Mehldau, Kurt Rosenwinkel, Tete Montoliu, Michael Brecker and Pat Metheny.
Having studied harmony and arrangements with Zé Eduardo at the Taller de Mùsics, he attended the “New School” in New York and performed with Lee Konitz, Jimmy Cobb, and Joe Chambers.
Latin Grammy nominee, Perico Sambeat is winner of numerous awards, including the Bird Award given by the North Sea Jazz Festival and best recording of the year (Flamenco Big Band). His prolific professional career has led him to participate in festivals around the world.
